Wonka Windup

Friday we had our windup of the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We read the novel for I Love to Read month and everyone had a variety of tasks that they had to complete in order to earn their golden ticket. We then celebrated by watching the movie and students used their golden ticket to enter the chocolate room where they got ice cream and then made themselves candy bags.

Project 11

Here we are starting our morning with a "body check" from the Project 11 curriculum. This morning we were doing stretching excercises to get our brains ready for the day! We are onto the second theme, which is communication. Last week we talked about facial expressions and this week we were discussing whole body listening.

Phases of the Moon

We were busy creating the phases of the moon today using Oreo cookies. I think the best part was probably eating them when we were finished!

Practice Those Math Facts!

Please encourage your child to practice their math facts at home as well. We are using a new website called www.xtramath.com to practice these basic facts. It encourages quick recall of these facts. We continue to practice our basic facts at school but it is important that they practice these at home as well in order to improve quick recall and automaticity. Thanks for your continued support.

Winter Activity Day

A winter activity day note was sent home last week. Students have three options this year for the winter activity day. On February 23, students can go downhill skiing, tobogganing or cross country skiing at Bittersweet. The forms and payment are due February 12.
