Family Fun Night Cancelled

Family fun night that was scheduled for Tuesday April 30 has been cancelled due to weather.

Earth Week

Monday April 22 - "Lights Out Canada". We will power down and use less technology and electricity.

Tuesday April 23 - recycling presentation by Sprucedale Industries

Wednesday April 24 - wear green day

Thursday April 25 - trash free lunch

Congratulations Taylor!

I just wanted to congratulate a past student on her recent achievement. Taylor won Miss Teen Central Manitoba World 2013 and will be competing in Nationals in July. Why Do You Think People Should Buy Chocolate Bars From Our Class?

I think people should buy chocolate bars from students in our class:

So then when we look back at the memories when we are adults, we would say " we got to do that because of chocolate bar sales (Rhett)

Books for the Grade 5's

The Pine Creek Teachers' Association and the Manitoba Teachers' Society are pleased to present a gift for all grade 5 students in Pine Creek School Division. This gift has been made possible by a grant. The purpose of this gift is to promote the students' understanding of issues related to Equity and Social Justice. We read parts of the books together with a partner and discussed what we read. All grade 5's were given one of the books to take home.

Persuasive writing

Tomorrow we are going to edit another persons rough copy of their persuasive writing. Everyone was free to choose their own topic.
Please make sure you have a written hard copy of your writing that can be exchanged with someone else, ready for tomorrow.

Upcoming Next Week

On Monday, the "Running: Sport or Way of Life?" sheet is due and the Subway Lunch forms are due too. Can't be any later then Monday.
On Tuesday, the Persuasive Essay rough copy is due.
On Wednesday, Full-Cast Suessical practice from 3:30 to 5:00 after school.
On Thursday, since there is no school on Friday, Journal is due and Spelling questions/test. There is also Subway Lunch.

Friday Deadlines

Just a reminder that there a few things due tomorrow.
- Students that did not present their science electricity projects before spring break will be presenting tomorrow.
- Field trip forms and money are due.

- chocolate bars $2 each (the money will go toward our field trip expenses)

Field Trip

We have decided to use the Goldeye game as part of our field trip. Forms and money need to be in by Friday April 5 so we can get our tickets early. We will be looking into doing something else in the city as well, but nothing has been confirmed yet. We are hoping to use the money from chocolate bar sales to fund the rest of the trip. If you could sell some chocolate bars to help us out they are $2 a bar and we have caramel and almond. All money raised from these sales will go toward our trip expenses. Thanks!
