Enjoy Your Long Weekend

I hope everyone enjoys their long weekend and here's a couple of reminders:

Don't forget what you're weekend reading plan was. I hope you will fit some extra reading time into your schedule this weekend. Remember, even 5 minutes or one page is better than nothing!

Practice your mental math facts! There are several different ways you can do this! Try to add up the grocery bill in your head, just take two random numbers and try to add them up, figure out how many days until Christmas without looking at the calendar! You also have xtramath.com where you can practice or even multiplication.com! This is an extremely important skill that will make everything easier once you master it!

Get outside and enjoy the nice weather! Don't sit in front of your tv, video game or ipad all weekend. Get moving! Enjoy your long weekend!

Recycling grocery bags

Yesterday we brought in 1086 grocery bags to be recycled! We will be collecting again next week so if you have any more to donate we will gladly take them. Collect from your grandparents and aunts and uncles too!

This is the bench we received last year, made from recycled bags.

Here is a little video from YouTube on the lifecycle of a plastic bag.

Bike Trip - Friday

This Friday, is our bike trip to Sprucewoods. We would like all bikes to be at school on Thursday, we will have a quick look at them on Friday morning and get them loaded into the trailer. We are leaving school at 12:30 on Friday and will be home by 4:30pm. Everyone needs to remember to bring something to drink and if they want something to cook over the fire.

Cross Country Run

Our cross country run was held on Monday after school. We had 5 students from our class participating in the run. Way to go Ethan H, Ethan U, Keaton, Quinn and William! Congratulations to Ethan U for coming in second and Keaton for coming in first.
